Introducing: Logistheca

We have resources. They have needs. We need to get them what they need.

We have the Word. God says to go. We must get the Word where it needs to go.

While serving on a pastoral staff for several years, one of my greatest joys was interacting with our missionaries. One thing that began to burden my heart was a recurring need: useful, biblical resources. Of course, the missionaries or nationals knew best the needs and how to utilize materials, but they simply did not have them accessible to the language, let alone a means of producing the resources themselves. It was out of this growing angst, to get different people groups around the world the helps they desperately need, that the concept of Logistheca was born.

Particularly in the West, in the English-speaking world, in America, we have an almost embarrassingly exorbitant wealth of Bibles, tools for researching them, and courses of study around and through their truths. Most of the rest of the world has less than a fraction. Should we keep making slightly different and more recent versions of the same, or should we share? We praise God for the many serious Bible translation projects happening in distant languages. But as I was discussing some years ago with a friend involved in these frontline efforts, what happens after Bible-deprived communities receive the Word? Many languages do not have even the simplest of any other tools. What is the best way that you and I can help?

Our family has been called of God, not only to share the truth with the world, as have all Christians, but specifically to do so as vocational missionaries. He has recently opened a place of service for us with Source of Light Ministries International, a global discipleship resource ministry headquartered in Madison, GA. We are grateful for His guidance to this mission and the amazing ways that He continues to use it in the lives of millions. A simple way we describe the work at SLM is “providing the tools to finish the task.” Logistheca is just has a different way of saying it: “getting the WORD where it needs to GO.”

I sincerely hope you will join us as God begins another chapter in our life’s journey. Here you will find a place to keep up with what is happening in our work and lives. We greatly desire and need a support team, people that will pray for us and invest in our family. It is our prayer that posts like this one will engage your heart and mind, not just in what is going through our thoughts and going on in our ministry, but much more what Jesus is doing in His church around the world. Come on. Let’s get the Word going.
